Kicillof Criticizes Government's Economic Policies

The governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, expressed his concern about the actions of the president of the Nation, Javier Milei, whom he accused of delivering the sovereignty, jobs, and natural resources of the country to the highest bidder. Kicillof reported on his personal social media account that internal consumption of beef has decreased significantly, being the lowest in the last 100 years, and highlighted that the majority of the population is experiencing economic difficulties.

In his criticisms, the provincial leader emphasized that during right-wing governments, the increase in bonds and stocks in the stock market is often celebrated at the expense of the living conditions of the working and middle class. He also pointed out that Argentines have changed their eating habits, consuming more chicken than beef, which he considered a misleading way to present the harsh reality.

Kicillof stated that the economic policies implemented by the government have affected not only the consumption of beef but also other basic foods such as chicken, milk, fruits, and vegetables, harming the purchasing power of the population. He underscored the exponential increase in the export of beef as a counterpoint to the decrease in internal consumption and criticized the model that promotes a significant reduction in consumption due to insufficient income.

In this regard, the governor of Buenos Aires denounced that the current policy is leading to hunger and suffering in what used to be known as "the breadbasket of the world." Kicillof questioned the priorities of a government that, according to him, prioritizes low-cost exports over ensuring food security and the well-being of the population. Ultimately, the governor called on people not to be deceived by speeches that attempt to present sacrifice and the crisis that society is enduring as positive.
